Nose

Seductive aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate with a fine oak profile, warm spice and some dusty cigar box notes on the nose.

Palate

The old vines typically yield fruit of concentrated flavours and soft, supple and velvety tannins that set them apart from the younger stuff. Our Centenarian Old Vine Shiraz is a full bodied wine with richness and  concentration of flavour. The intense fruit sweetness typical of old vine fruit is balanced by vanillin oak characters and smooth, soft tannins. The oak delivers persistence of flavour and length with cream, spice characters adding depth.

 

Cellaring Potential

This wine was released wtih 36 months bottle age. It is drinking well on release and will continue to develop over 20 years.

Serving Suggestion

Allow it to breathe for at least 30 minutes before drinking. It is a wine that pairs well with charcoal grilled meat, lamb or beef steak, creamy pasta and robust dishes.
